Mentors in the master’s study program
Mentors in our Master’s programs
The contact details of the mentors can be found via FAU’s person search.
Together with your mentor, you will draw up your individual study agreement. It is strongly recommended that you draw it up as early as possible, as this will determine your timetable for the master’s program. Please be sure to use the form with the most current date:
Once you and your mentor have signed the study agreement, send it along with your desired field of study to the examination office by email: petra.frosch@fau.de
Tip: Make a scan or copy before handing it in.
The study agreements are then submitted collectively to the examination board. With the signature of a member of the examination board, the study agreement is a valid document.
Changes must always be made in agreement with the mentor and must also be submitted again to the examination board for approval.
A change of the field of study is only possible in exceptional cases.
After your enrollment in the Master’s program Computational and Applied Mathematics (CAM) at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, you choose a mentor.
When doing so, please make sure to select a person who is listed in your chosen degree program and the specialization. Please contact the person promptly and ask whether the mentorship can be taken over.

You can generate your study plans online via your browser (JavaScript needs to be enabled!) on the following website:
https://www.splag.math.fau.de/
Please note that this tool is still under active development and might have some minor bugs. You should always check at the beginning of each semester, if your study plan still applies by verifying all information on Campo, which is the point of reference for all module information.
Once you have created your study plan you should send a digital version (PDF) to your mentor for a quick review. There is no need to sign the study plan and you don’t need to send the study plan to the examination committee or examination office during your studies. If you plan to change your study plan you can simply inform your mentor via email and send an updated study plan if necessary.
At the very end of your studies – once all necessary ECTS have been collected – you need to send a hard copy of your study plan signed by your mentor and the examination committee to the examination office. Your study plan is then used to transfer your modules into the correct module groups. Hence, there is no need to contact the examination office to transfer modules from one module group to another during your studies as this will be done at the very end based on your study plan prior to printing your degree certificate.
We hope this will significantly simplify the regulations for your study plan agreement in the future.
To be assigned a mentor, please send an email to dds-education@fau.de with your full name, your specilzation and your FAU email adress. You will be assigned a mentor in the next few days.
