Campo
Welcome to the Campo help pages of the Department of Mathematics and Data Science
The pages are still under construction. As of: 02.11.2022
- Please check the general Campo courses first.
- Lecture planning of the teaching unit: vorlesungsplanung@math.fau.de
- Room allocation for the Felix Klein building: raumverantwortung@math.fau.de
- Module administration of the teaching unit: modulverwaltung@math.fau.de
- Campo-Support, i.e. for www.campo.fau.de: support-exa@fau.de
- Questions and suggestions regarding these Campo help pages: johannes.hild@fau.de
- How do I get a room and from whom?
- Examination inspection, seminar preview etc: Via lecture planning, these are then booked in addition to a suitable lecture.
- Examination review, doctoral examination, seminar, festive event: Via room allocation, these are booked as special events.
- Local campus representatives are also welcome to create the events/special events themselves and then make a request for the rooms.
- Why can’t I move my time window?
- If the time window already has a reserved room, the room must first be deleted/cleared before the time window can be changed.
- Why can’t I create appointments for my parallel group?
- Parallel groups must first be cleared (edit clearance indicator).
- How can I create several rooms for an exam at the same time?
- Via appointment series with several appointments at the same time or alternatively via a grid appointment.
- Why can’t my students register for the course or see the course?
- Course is not enabled (highlighted in red). Modules may not be linked. Have it linked by lecture planning.
- Why can’t I see my exam?
- The exam may not have been created in the semester, or you may not be registered as an examiner. Have it linked to lecture planning.
- Why can’t students register for my exam?
- Possible sources of error are: The exam has not yet been modeled for the students’ degree program, or it is in the wrong semester or has not been cleared (edit clearance indicator). Please contact lecture planning.
- How do I use StudOn?
- In Campo, in the “Links” tab of the lecture, there is a link to the autogenerated StudOn course. Click there.
- If you already have admin rights: Move the course in the tree and set course clearance.
- If you do not have admin rights: Ask Mr. Hild or Ms. Sanderson for admin rights (it is best to send the StudOn link to Campo)
- Alternative: Create your own course and then create the new Campo link in the course via the StudOn link on Campo(!).
- How do I find free time slots for my course?
- First set the time slot, then the room: Create a date in Campo and then search for and request free rooms via room search with filters (Campus: South Campus, Seats: >= X).
- Adjust time slots to free rooms: View room allocation plans (via drop-down menu), identify a free window and then create a suitable time slot in Campo.
- How can I edit examinations/courses for my department?
- Examinations: Apply for examiner substitution via IDM in the Requests tab and apply for a Campo role there.
- Courses: When planning courses, please register that the department chair is to be added to the semester-independent details (please include the cost center)
- Is my room possibly too small?
- Please wait for the first attendance event, as students often register in StudOn without showing up. If the room is too small, the course planning will help you to find a room.
- Why can’t I edit the website on StudOn via the “Edit course” link?
- Write to studon@fau.de with the request to link your IDM ID with “Vorname.Nachname”. After linking, there should no longer be any problems.
- How can I also display my exam names for students in English?
- Log in as an examiner, click on the “Exam dates” tab for the corresponding exam, then “Edit basic data of the exam date”.
- The “Semester-dependent exam designation” is stored there. Directly underneath is a British flag. You can enter the English name there.
- My lecture does not appear in the lecturer schedule, what can I do?
- You are probably not entered as a “lecturer”. You can set this in the parallel groups. If you click on the name of the responsible lecturer there, they will be entered as the lecturer responsible for all parallel groups.
- In principle: Roles for the Department of Mathematics organizational unit and the Department of Data Science organizational unit are assigned by the respective offices. Roles for degree programs can be assigned by both offices, but only for their own department members.
- Lecture planning only has permissions for objects (lectures, examinations) that are located directly at 1414000000 Department of Mathematics. If these objects are located on department chairs or professorships and lecture planning is to co-organize them, then these objects must be assigned by the local Campo representatives as an additional responsible organization 1414000000 Department of Mathematics. This is done as follows:
- For lectures: In the semester-independent details in the Facilities tab, it is best to search for and add the cost center directly.
- For examinations: Only possible via support-exa@fau.de, please state the exam number.
- Examiner: Apply for examination authorization, https://www.intern.fau.de/lehre-und-studium/campusmanagement-an-der-fau-das-neue-campo-portal/pruefungsverwaltung-ueber-das-online-portal-mein-campus-fuer-pruefer/bestellung-zur-prueferin-zum-pruefer/, then you will be assigned the corresponding Campo role (you will then also automatically receive the roles for lecturers and module supervisors)
- Examiner substitution: IDM in the Requests tab and apply for the Campo role there.
- Teachers, module coordinators, Campo representatives from Department X: Request via Office X.
- Module coordinators, program coordinators of study program Y: Via your own office.
- Department Chairs and subunits can create local campo supervisors. To do this, the head of the department or subunit (typically Prof.) must proceed as follows: Log in to www.idm.fau.de and select “Administration” under “Institution” then “Teaching role administration” and set “campo representative” there.
